Invest with a stocks and shares ISA

You can choose to invest your money into a single fund or you can ask for a wide range of investments in order to spread the risk.  If you are knowledgeable about the stock market, you can select which funds to invest in yourself.

If you are a beginner to the stocks and shares market, you should make sure you are aware of the risks of this type of investment - start with small investments spread over a wide range so you aren't putting all your eggs in one basket.

There is the potential to make much more money than you would by just using a cash ISA, but at the same time there is also the risk that you could lose some, if not all of your money so you should be realistic about what you can afford to lose if the worst happened.

If you are certain that you cannot afford to lose any money, then a cash ISA is your best bet, as even if the rate of interest if not fantastic, you will at least still be left with the amount you invested originally.
