Are cash ISAs all the same?

In the same way as other savings accounts, there are different types of cash ISA available such as fixed rate, easy access and notice accounts.

Choosing an account will depend on how flexible you want your account to be - if you think you might dip into your savings then going for an easy access account that allows you to withdraw cash with no notice may be what you are looking for.

However, if you want your ISA to be a more long-term saving fund then you could consider a fixed rate deal or a notice account - with these types of account, withdrawals are not usually allowed until the end of the fixed period or subject to a period of notice, so any temptation to withdraw funds unnecessarily is removed.
