Landslip occurs where a natural or man-made slope fails under the action of gravity due to either a pre-existing deficiency and/or a contributing factor. Although landslip can result in cracking and structural damage, it should be noted that not all cracking is due to landslip. Cracks can occur due to shrinkage, differing thermal properties of differing construction materials, corrosion in metals built into brittle materials and settlement especially in new buildings and extensions.
If your property is affected by landslip movement you may find it difficult to insure and that standard insurers are not able to offer the level of cover that you require or if they do, it can prove to be very expensive.
You may need to find a specialist insurance provider.
