65% LTV Mortgage
In recent years, it has become the norm for many lenders - particularly in the remortgage market - to ask for a deposit of at least 40%. This means you need to have at least 40% equity built up in your home or have saved 40% of the property's value.
Anything over this amount would normally be classed as a high LTV mortgage.
This does not mean you won't be able to get a mortgage if you have a smaller deposit - far from it. There are plenty of lenders around who can offer competitive rates for lower deposits - just use the mortgage calculator to compare what's available.
Just remember the higher the deposit you are able to offer, the more preferential rates you will find.
